• A: Art
• M: Math
• Works: “Where one-to-one works”
• STEAMworks is a one-to-one learning environment. It has been shown that students get better grades, better organizational skills and master the curriculum in different ways.
• STEAMworks is a school for students who have extensive extra-curricular activities and are seeking college scholarships. It may be for a student that needs extra support, a student with anxiety or special needs, and/or a child (and parents) that want FLEXIBILITY.
• One of the amazing things about STEAMworks is that the teacher comes to YOU.
• Your child learns in an environment that is comfortable for them.
◦ YOU have control over what your child learns.
◦ STEAMworks is classified as a “homeschool” so that your child can participate in extra-curricular activities (like band, sports, etc.) at their local school with their friends in grades 6-12.
◦ The teacher, school, family, and student all have a “say” in what is taught. While the students will be taught the standards for each class, the delivery method can and will be modified to help your child in the way they learn best.
• You need to fill out this form
• The home study program must include, but is not limited to, instruction in reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. The school year must include the equivalent of 180 days of at least 4-1/2 hours of instruction per day unless the child is physically unable to comply with this requirement.
• The 180 days of school is for an entire year (365 days) and your child only needs to do 180 days or 4.5 hours each. These days and times are FLEXIBLE for you and your child.
• State testing must be done a minimum of once every 3 years.
We have qualified teachers with valid teaching certificates and clear background checks.
• Your child will move on to the next course in the sequence when they have shown mastery.
• The teachers will keep records of attendance and other relevant information. STEAMworks will maintain copies of transcripts. Parents have access to their child’s records at any time.
• Pretty much EVERYTHING!
